HORSE PARTY (1 DAY)

Place of the event: Sergelen soum of Tov province, 70km away from UB.
Date of the event:

9.30 a.m. Leave the hotel for the horse party.

10.30 a.m Arrive  at the Dorjnyambuu’s family summer camp. Dorjnyambuu is the winner of the horse taming and horse grazing competition. Lecture on horses in Mongolia. Witness the owner of the herd drive 100 horses about 10 kms.

11.00  Watch the Mongolian skillful cowboys catch horses with the uurga - a long stick with a rope noose.

12.00 Braking of a horse that has never been ridden before. Watch Mongolian cowboys take turns taming them.

13.00 Picnic lunch – BBQ.  At lunch taste the favourite drink of Mongolians - airag, fermented mare’s milk.

14.30 Afternoon milking of the mares. Volunteers may  participate by holding the foals next to their mothers.

16.00 Foal race. There is a tradition of Mongolians to race foals at big events, favorable year celebration, marking of the horses. Opportunity for some to gamble.

17.30 Free time. Horse – riding. Hiking. Talking with horse breeders and their family. Light dinner.

19.00 Leave for Ulaanbaatar.

Price Includes: All transportation between tour cities in Mongolia by air, bus, or rail; Mongolian invitation. Accommodations and three meals per day at double occupancy. National and local guides.
