Tour highlights: Zakhchin family/Gurvan Tsenher Caves/Har Us Lake/Myagad family

Tour description: meet with several representatives of minor ethnic groups and learn about their culture, traditions and customs.

Day 1 Fly to Hovd town. Brief tour of Hovd town including a visit to the local museum.Hovd is the province with the most representatives of  minority ethnic groups. Visit a family of the Zakhchin  group, lecture about Zakhchin  customs and get to know their traditions and enjoy Zakhchin national music and dance. Overnight  in tents near the family.

Day 2 Drive to the famous cave 'Gurvan Tsenheryn' dating back in 13,000 B. C. and see cave paintings of the cavemen artists. Visit to Monkhairkhan mountain, at 4360m the 2nd highest in Mongolia; Trekking and free time, drink from the glacial stream for the purest water taste. Overnight in tents next to the stream.

Day 3 Drive to Har us Lake in Manh sum. Visit a Myangad group family near Hovd town; preparation of a traditional mongolian dinner. Enjoy the throat singing of the local masters.

Day 4 Horse riding/trekking. Drive back to Hovd; visit to Sangyn Kheren ruins, built in the early 1760s by Manchu warlords. Overnight at the hotel in Hovd.

Day 5 Fly back to Ulaanbaatar.
