Exhibits, Presentations on Mongolia and Xinjiang
Beginning
in April, 2003, the Legacy of Genghis Khan, Courtly Art and Culture
in Western Asia, organized by the Los Angeles County Museum of Art
and the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, explores the remarkable
artistic developments that occurred in the Iranian world as a result
of the Mongol conquest of both Western and Eastern Asia. Focusing
on the period of Ilkhanid rule (1253-1353) - an era that witnessed
extraordinary achievementswithin the sphere of Persian art and culture,-
the exhibition is complimented and amplified by a lively and informative
video presentation produced by Lesley Webb Duffy for the Museum.
